Mary Kingswood pdf free download

I didn't like or dislike this one any more than the previous novel. It was good! I thought the solid length was nice, as it kept me occupied over my Christmas break. It was pretty consistently interesting, and I liked Margaret, the "silent" sister, more than I anticipated. That being said, I agree with other reviewers that her speech issue could be very tedious!

It was the oddest thing I've seen - being able to say no more than a couple words at a time, then having to write paragraphs of conversation on a slate, then being able to soundly tell off her attacker later on I realized midway that she's suffering from some form of debilitating anxiety.

Undiagnosed, as those things always were. I have a friend who struggles from a similar issue, and like Margaret, can take days to reply to something as simple as a text message, because her anxiety kept her from finding the words to respond. This is a lot like that. It's not that they can't speak, it's that they can't find the words. The author had to go about explaining it without flat-out calling it an anxiety disorder, which is likely why readers felt frustrated by the odd problem.

While I sympathized, I felt that her using the slate for deep, involved conversation was a bit far-fetched! Maybe it's because we live in a digital world, but the idea of writing so much with a piece of chalk made my wrist sore just thinking about it. I can't see a person being able to sustain those lengthy conversations, or a listener happily waiting for Margaret to finish her paragraph.

It would be an agonizingly slow conversation. I can't imagine it. The romance itself was quite sweet, though a bit brow-raising. Mel's dilemma was flat out annoying, tbh. Like screw Lord Fancypants, marry who you want. Seemed wayyy to far-fetched. Like, impossible. I'm glad it all worked out, because I did not like that one bit. Can I just say tho - other than being magnets for all kinds of criminal activity - these sisters have extremely good luck in the area of husbands?

I need some of that, lol. I liked how the sisters' stories all intersect, and that we actually got see to her and Lucy together in this one, and the charming Mr. I anticipate book 5 very much, since I imagine it'll be like the Avengers of Winterton siblings. XDOverall, it was a cute romance and intriguing story. Home Why did the Shang write on turtles? Mary Kingswood. Leave a Reply Your email address will not be published. Search the world s most comprehensive index of full text books My library. I skip them also. A complete waste of time. It is the story that is important and yours are great thank you. I have a question that occurred to me way back when I read Pride and Prejudice for the first time, and again recently when I read The Lacemaker: Why was it considered so rude in Regency times to introduce yourself to someone?

Why did you have to wait for a third party to perform an introduction? I remember my young self being puzzled that Mr. Once introduced, you were committed to acknowledging that person and therefore recognising them as someone worth knowing.

If you passed them on the street or met at a party, you would be obliged to at least bow to them, and possibly speak to them. So you had to be absolutely sure you wanted to know them in the first place.

Thus it was always the higher in rank who requested or approved the introduction, because they were the ones who would be most particular about who they knew. I am so happy to find you and your books! No silly tales about dukes and earls…just real people. Your new fan, Rochelle. Thank you so much for the kind words, Rochelle!

I am not fond of romances in general, but I read the Governess and was hooked. Near the end, I turned every page afraid that it would be the end.

I am a 78 year old cowboy from Texas and my wife got me started on Georgette Heyer several years ago and I have been hooked on regency era romance and history ever since. I have 6 of your books and will eventually collect them all. I abhor the writers who do not take the time to research proper titles and how peers should be addressed. Thank you for your books. Many, many of my readers feel the same way.

Give my regards to Texas. I lived in Houston for a while many years ago, and have fond memories of the place and of Texans. Happy reading, cowboy! Hi Mary Was so excited to see a new series. Maybe it went in the spam folder? I hope you enjoy the read! In what order should I read each series? Which series should I read after this? Hi Gale! I am a new member I think , but must commend you on all the research you have done to write about men and women with titles during the Regency.

And I agree that you also should use your own voice. Georgette Heyer never did. I have just finished The Seamstress and am ready for the final one in a wonderful series.

Chiming in from Bloomington, indiana. Thank you, Deborah, and hello to Bloomington. We may live thousands of miles apart, but we have a common interest in the way of life in the Regency era. I feel really guilty because for the past month I have done very little housework or any of the jobs I should have done.

My problem has been putting your books down. Now I really am going to have a break from reading, for a couple of days anyway, and I shall clear my conscience by doing some housework and ironing and silly things like that.

This made me laugh! Whenever I get stuck on a tricky plot point, I go and iron a few shirts. So glad to hear others have the same problem with not being able to put your books down Mary! It is not just the housework, you are so totally responsible for the sky high weeds in my garden. I am really enjoying the Strangers series ….. Stranger at the Villa was so absorbing, a real page turner with a very determined heroine and a touching hero. Thank you so much for brightening my days during lockdown.
